Food and Mood Program

Cultivating an understanding of the links between food security and mental health – one seed, one person, one community at a time.

Learning and Growing Together

Learning and growing together is a vital aspect of this program. We offer opportunities to plant and sow, share a meal, become better equipped to cultivate our own food sources, and work together to preserve them.

Cultivating Sustainable Food Sources

Communities are stronger when they have the ability to feed themselves, and to do so in ways that align with their culture and contexts. Community gardens offer unique and hyper-local opportunities for such self-determination.

Sharing with Community

Approximately 13%, or 50,000 people, experience food insecurity in Butler County. Our Food and Mood program allows us to share resources with our community to help address and alleviate this reality.

Nourishing the Future

By offering intergenerational events which create the opportunity for the passing on of knowledge and tradition, we are helping to nourish and equip the next generations toward resilience and wholeness.
