Trauma-Informed Worship Services
An Annual Event of the Refuge Trauma Recovery Institute
Our most recent Trauma-Informed Worship Service occurred on September 6, 2025. As we work to craft our next event, we want to offer you the opportunity to watch our weekly Mental Health Moments, offered by Dr. Camisha Chambers, as well as additional resources for those who wish to incorporate personal prayer, Scripture reading, and other worshipful practices into your daily routine.

Additional Resources

Breath Prayers
Breath prayers are a modern adaptation of the ancient prayer of the heart. We create them to express our deepest needs. They help us keep God in the foreground amidst our daily living and clarify our relationship with the holy. Most breath prayers are six to eight syllables and fit easily into one inhale and exhale.

Verse of the Day
Bible Gateway offers readers a daily verse of Scripture to center one's reflection around. You can change which version of the Bible the Scripture is drawn from, utilize other reading plans, and access Audio Bibles. the Bible Gateway resource can also be downloaded as an app to accompany you throughout your day.

Playlists
Music not only allows us the opportunity to worship God more fully, music therapy helps create a safe and supportive environment for healing trauma and building resistance. The Refuge Trauma Recovery Institute has created a Spotify channel and is offering carefully cultivated playlists for your use in your daily routines.
